Toronto Motorsport Park (Cayuga) - Closer Look at some of the Objects

Yesterday I posted about my recently completed Race Track, Toronto Motorsport Park.

I have decided to showcase some of the assets that I have created whilst working on the track, so that you can look at them in more detail.

One of the main objects that I have created was the Grand Stands/Bleachers.

I believe this building to be the race control building but  I could be wrong.

A Metal Structure found at the start of the track.

Some generic hut building that is located over towards the main grandstands.

Now you have seen some of the more interesting objects have a look out for them around my track.

Toronto Motorsport Park (Cayuga) - rFactor Track

I have finally completed the Toronto Motorsport Park (Cayuga) Track and have run a few test laps in the rFactor engine.

I have used F1 cars to show it off as it is the start of the new F1 season and is fairly topical at the moment.

I have also made video showing a lap of the track, running in rFactor, which can be seen below.

For further details about the track go to www.torontomotorsportspark.com. If you would like to see more images of my track either go to my facebook page or to my website www.markshires.com where you will also find my contact details if you have a track or another project that you would like to be completed.

Social Media Logo's

An Update to my website required me to create some logo's linking to all my other social media sites including this blog. I wanted to create something a little different by giving the logos a bit of depth, so I created some simple logo's in 3D and rendered them out with a separate depth of field pass.

I Created the Blogger logo, to link to my blog markshires.blogspot.com but you already knew that!

The second is a link to my facebook page, which you can find at www.facebook.com/mark.shires.3d whilst you are there please 'like' it, to stay up to date with any news and updates I have.

You can also follow me on Twitter at www.twitter.com/markshires3d which also keeps you up to date with all my news that I may have.

The final logo is a link to my YouTube channel which has all my videos and animation that I create, it also contains a fair few test renders that I create.

Finally don't forget to visit my main portoflio site www.markshires.com and see how they look on my links page.

Research Driving Simulator featured on the BBC News

A Research Driving Simulator that I worked on creating the 3D graphics, was recently featured on the BBC News promoting road safety. You can see the report below,

The Driving Simulator was created for Nottingham University by XPI Simulation. A further video showing the comparison between the 3D graphics and the real world can be seen in my earlier blog post  University Of Nottingham Driving Simulator

rFactor Track Re-branding

I have just completed some work for TripleWidescreen who required me to change the advertising on a circuit which could be used inside the game engine rFactor.

I believe this was then used to show to one of their clients. The track shown is the Silverstone F1 circuit.

This is just another example of the work that I can produce, How would your logo look on a track side advert?

Low Poly Billboard - Game Asset

Here is a little object that I have been working on recently. It is a billboard that contains an advert to my website www.markshires.com and will be used as a way of trying to promote myself.

The Model shown is a real-time model that is displayed in-game. I hope to include this model in most of the work that I produce as a kind of watermark.

The model has been created and textured in one texture containing a colour, diffuse and a specular map, and could be used in most game engines such as Unity.

See if you can spot the billboard in my future work!

Robotic Arm Rig - 3Ds Max

Here is a recent rig that I have set up using 3Ds Max. I have created a Robotic Arm which will eventually be used for my Herring Factory game level. (More details to follow soon)

I have set up the rig and tested the animation and it works well so far.

I still have to unwrap the model and then texture it, but hopefully I should be able to integrate it into Unity and get it working in my game level. Check back soon for further details.
